Simply Me

Madly in love with the color blue, spellbound by rain, captivated by good music and distracted by writing.

You must be thinking to yourself, “Hey, I read that already in your introductory statement on the right!” img_20161105_1Well yes, then you already know me so well because this is what really defines me.

In one statement I can say that I have found myself within the creation of this blog. I have got to know a lot about myself through the blogs that I have written in various times. I have received immense amount of love and encouragement from my readers in the form of their valuable comments. This blog started out as a platform to let my thoughts flow in an unknown place where nobody knows me. But with the growth of my number of blog posts and followers, suddenly I just wanted to be known! So now you will find here more of me than my random thoughts only.

I have 9 categories here that inspire my writing (see above), each of which has their individual descriptions. Please look around to find what interests you the most. I might add/ remove categories in future as I deem fit, but this page would always remain updated of all the changes, if any.

Bits and pieces of me:

  • I also have an interest in photography, the skill is amateur but hey it never hurts to try!
  • The tune of violin leaves me mesmerized so I’m learning how to play it.
  • I am currently a student of MBA in Marketing. Check out some of my posts relating to Marketing here: https://polomi.wordpress.com/category/marketing/

      1. Hi! Thank you so much for taking a look at my blog and flowering! It means a lot!

Whenever I write something slightly funny or something light, I just start writing but whenever I discuss a serious topic like the topics I talked about in “From the Heart” then I have to get my wording to be perfect so people will understand my true feelings.
        Best Wishes!

  2. It doesn’t matter whether writing is good or bad, but it should come from the heart, which I found in your beautiful description. Amazing blog n looking forward to read it. :)

  3. Do not leave your violin to gather dust. Take it up more than the keyboard of the computer and then you will find peace and happiness and meditative calm, at whatever you play.

              1. I’ll take liberty to recommend you something…it’ll surely enhance the readers experience on your blog. Do list categories prominently on your blog which will help visitor navigate to old archived post. This make it easy to read the post since your the posts on your blog don’t show summary, scrolling is quite painful. Hope you’ll forgive me for the “uncalled suggestion”

                1. I really appreciate that you noticed the flaw and took the effort to provide me with a possible suggestion. Yes, I’ve been thinking about it too and I’ll make changes soon :) Thanks once again!

                  1. I was browsing through your blog and It was actually difficult. If it’s possible in your theme to to turn off the detailed post and show only excerpts on home page, it really helps. That way the visitors will be able read more :)

                    1. Hi arv! (pardon me if that’s not how you prefer to be addressed), so I’ve made some changes to my blog as per your suggestion. I have turned off the detailed post option and enabled the excerpt mode. I have also added the widget that displays my top posts and pages so that readers do not have to wander aimlessly :P I hope you get to look at the changes and let me know what you think. My readers’ suggestions are always valuable to me :)

                    2. Hi Polomi….it’s perfectly okay to address me that way cause that’s how I write it here ;)

I think it’s certainly better now with detailed post turned off and excerpts turned on.

As for categories, it’s still not what it should be. I guess some themes are designed that way.
If you don’t have any particular reason to choose this theme, I’ll suggest you to pick a different one. The best ones are the ones with white background for easy readability, clean and neat layout. If pictures are things you want to highlight there are plenty to choose from. Try and see how it looks.

If there is some way in which I can help, do let me know. Always, happy to help my fellow bloggers! :)

                    3. I actually customized the theme as per my introductory statement, hence no white background. Hmmm, I think I might change the theme to improve people’s reading experience. Thanks for the feedback :)

                2. Hi again arv! So I’ve taken your suggestion and rearranged my blog by introducing 9 individual categories for all my blog posts. It took me some time to figure out how it works and I’m so glad to have brought some discipline to my blog posts. Please let me know if I’ve been able to improve the reading experience of my blog readers now :) Always appreciate your valuable comments!

                  1. Hi Polomi! I just had a look at your blog once again. I can see the changes which we were talking about. Yes, it’s great!!
                    You have done it finally!
But as pointed out, the current theme is not optimized for good viewing experience. In my opinion, in any theme, categories should be static and should not appear when you click menu button. Also, in current theme what if you add few more categories? The list becomes difficult to manage. So yes, the changes made by you are as it I suggested, that just great. But start searching for a good theme. one way can be to look around in themes. Other option is to run through other bloggers blog and see if you like any! if you need my help to set up theme or menu, let me know. :) Once you have done that I’ll help with one or two more suggestion which will increase views of your blogs.

                    1. I’m actually having difficulties in setting my menu buttons. What I’ve done is, I’ve added categories in my menu which is why these are appearing when you click on the menu button. I will give it some more try to see if I can fix it. And about the theme, I’ve custom-designed it myself which would explain my willingness to stick with it :P But yes, surely I would want to make it better by taking in your suggestion of visiting other fellow bloggers’ pages. I’ve visited yours already and have truly loved it. Cannot thank you enough for all the assistance you’ve been providing!

  5. It’s true. You woke up and found yourself in Uncle Bardie Country. Now that you have followed Uncle Bardie, you may find yourself at that fork in the road that you have to take. With Uncle Bardie for a guide, you can be comforted that you may stub your toe on a pun, find you can’t resist laughing at those things you never thought funny, and wake up to wonder what Uncle Bardie is up to. It’s okay. That itch can be scratched. Simply tune in to the next Post, It could very well be a doozy or not. Either way it will be coming from the whacky mind of Uncle Bardie. So thanks for following Uncle Bardie’s Stories & Such. It beats bananas any day. Unless…but that’s a whole ‘nother thang. And one last thing. Have a great day (or night, depending on your perspective).
